Some cultural encounters are not mere coincidences but follow a deeper logic—distant lands that, like an ancient mirror, eventually recognize themselves in one another. This is the essence of
Gemina – Echoes of Identity Across Borders, a documentary directed by Alessio Mattia and produced by the association SiAmo il Monferrato, in collaboration with Fondazione Time2, the fashion house Hayeli, and Nork Group.
"Gemina is not a communication project," clarifies Artak Khulyan, Corporate Communication Manager of Nork Group of Companies, Z&A. "It is, first and foremost, an act of cultural recognition. We chose to join because we deeply share its vision."

The project will be presented to the press on April 15th at Cinema Anteo, as part of Milan Design Week. The world premiere is scheduled for April 21st, followed by a second screening on May 14th at the Società Canottieri Armida.

The documentary explores the profound bond between Monferrato and Armenia, highlighting unexpected parallels in identity, spirituality, tradition, wine culture, and community resilience. The title itself—Gemina, from the Latin root suggesting duality and reflection—reveals the heart of the project: not a meeting of strangers, but a reunion of kindred spirits.

"When we first read the synopsis," Khulyan adds, "we felt that someone had finally given shape to something many perceived but couldn't yet express."

The film features international figures such as:

These diverse voices weave together a modern narrative on identity and cross-cultural dialogue.

A defining feature of the project is its commitment to inclusivity. Supported by Fondazione Time2, four young people from Turin facing disabilities or social vulnerabilities participated actively in the production.

"This challenge is what ultimately convinced us," emphasizes Khulyan. "A project that speaks of identity and memory cannot afford to exclude anyone from its creative process."

Co-funded by the Piedmont Region, Gemina marks the first chapter of a three-year journey. The documentary is accompanied by a book—to be presented at the Turin International Book Fair on May 14th—and a photography exhibition. It is a project that demonstrates how local dimensions can serve as a unique lens through which to view the shared destiny of nations.
