BARI, ITALY — ABCD (A Bari Capitale Digitale) returns this spring with the confidence of an event that has firmly found its voice. On Friday, April 17, and Saturday, April 18, the Spazio Murat will once again serve as a crossroads for voices, ideas, and innovation. Now in its fifth year, the summit has evolved from a local grassroots initiative in 2021 into a significant fixture on Italy’s national innovation calendar.

The driving force behind this transformation is Nicolò Andreula, a Bari-born economist and founder of Disal Consulting. His core philosophy is embedded in the event’s title: the belief that Bari is not a peripheral province to be overlooked, but a rising digital capital to be built. After five years of strategic ambition and meticulous curation, that vision is becoming a reality.

More than just a showcase, ABCD addresses a pivotal question: can Southern Italy serve as a laboratory for global change rather than a mere spectator? Each edition provides an increasingly compelling "yes."

This year’s program focuses on four strategic pillars:

  • Aligned Aging: Exploring quality of life in an era of unprecedented longevity.

  • Bouncing Back: Reframing failure as a vital pedagogical tool for growth.

  • Consumer Capitalism: Analyzing how identity is constructed—and consumed—through purchasing power.

  • Digital Disruptions: A clear-eyed look at the technologies rewriting the rules of the economy and human connection.

A major highlight of the 2026 edition is the Village of the Future, located in the repurposed Former Fish Market (Ex Mercato del Pesce). This open-air space will feature local and national exhibitors, where urban regeneration meets virtual reality and sustainability is treated as a daily practice rather than a corporate slogan.

The speaker lineup features prominent leaders, including former Leonardo CEO Alessandro Profumo, Paralympic champion Martina Caironi, and Amazon Italy Country Manager Giorgio Busnelli. With over a thousand attendees expected—ranging from companies scouting talent to students seeking their future—Bari is proving its ability to attract fresh energy and new perspectives. As Andreula notes, the city is no longer waiting for the future to arrive; it is summoning it.

Registration and Attendance Interested participants can register at the official website, abaricapitaledigitale.com, which hosts the full program and ticket options. While general admission is available, paid ticket holders will gain exclusive access to Saturday’s Networking Bites. These curated thematic sessions are hosted in iconic local venues, such as the Liberrima Bookstore and the Giancarlo Fiore Boutique, specifically designed for professionals looking to turn inspiration into concrete growth and partnerships.
