"Armenian Minister Sanosyan Visits Patrizia Posillipo's Exhibition "Tracce" in Yerevan" by Carlo Coppola
On 15 February 2022, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia, Gnel Sanosyan, visited the photographic exhibition "Tracce" by the artist Patrizia Posillipo, staged at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Yerevan, at 7 Mesrop Mashtots Avenue, at the invitation of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Italy to the Republic of Armenia, Alfonso Di Riso.
"Tracce" traces the artist's journey from west to east, from north to south, between Italy and Armenia, in an attempt to recover the living cultural ties — and the differences — between two peoples who have engaged in dialogue for centuries.
Ambassador Di Riso observed that the exhibition bears witness to the depth of Italian-Armenian relations, distinguishing three forms of diplomacy: intergovernmental diplomacy, parliamentary diplomacy, and popular diplomacy, which takes shape through the movement of people carrying their own suitcases. Whatever the reasons that lead people to move from one place to another, the Ambassador noted, they always leave traces in time and in history: from these seeds, he added, plants grow, which in turn become great trees and bear fruit.
Minister Sanosyan thanked the Ambassador for the initiative and welcomed the idea of seeking Armenian traces in Italy and Italian traces in Armenia. He observed that, should research continue in this direction, many further facts about that connection would certainly come to light, and stressed how precious the bond between the two peoples remains.
The exhibition "Tracce" by Patrizia Posillipo will remain open until 20 February.
